Sanrachna (Bridge modelling contest)

A bridge modelling event was conducted on 17^th March 2023 in Hardware Lab on TechFest name “TechnoMela” was conducted. In this event the participants have to make a model of the bridge from the materials provided. Total 7 teams registered for the event, but 5 teams were participated in the event.

Three Judges named Dr. (Prof.) Harwinder Singh and Dr. (Prof.) Jagbir Singh were the present for the judgement of the submissions made by the participants. Three finalists’ teams were selected on the basis of several parameters like: Creativity, Aesthetics and Load sustained.

Techno Plot

Techno Plot

A technical design type event was on 16^th of March 2023 in Computational Lab on Techfest named TechnoMela was conducted. It was a one round event, where the participants have to design a 2D House of size 35’ x 80’ in any CAD software weather using their personal laptop or mobile or by using the computers available in Computational lab. Three finalists were selected on the basis of several parameters like: Requirements, extra facilities, Aesthetics and Properly labelled.

Total 35 students from several departments registered for the event and 12 students show up for the event and successful submitted their designs on a Google form. Three Judges named Dr. (Prof) Harwinder Singh, Prof. Manvinder Kingra and Prof. Yuvraj Singh were the present for the judgement of the submissions made by the participants.

Doorway to ACES

Doorway to ACES

Association of civil engineering students (ACES) organized an interactive event named “DOORWAY TO ACES”. It was conducted on 2^nd February 2022. The event was conducted on Google Meet. On the first day of the event, all the participants were called to introduce themselves and share their hobbies, goals and etc so that it will reduce their public speaking fears. They also got a golden opportunity to interact with their respective seniors and teachers. Students found this event very helpful and useful as they got more to know about ACES and their branch. On the second day of the event interview session held where we select the active members for ACES. There were 64 online registrations with a total of 50 students participating in this event.

The first-day ‘INTERACTION PROGRAMME’ was broken into 3 parts: –

● Part 1- Interaction Programme from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM

● Part 2- Come to know about ACES from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM

Article Writing Contest

Article Writing Contest

An online article writing event was organized by the Association of Civil Engineering Students from 12th September to 16th September 2021. The event was led and executed successfully under the able guidance of Prof.Yuvraj Singh .

The event was a part of one of the various technical and social events organized by ACES. These events are organized from time to time with the objective to provide a platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit.

The event was successful enough to attract as many as 40+ registrations. The themes for the event included sustainable engineering, automation in engineering, road safety, and traffic management, and recent advances in engineering.

The winners were encouraged with a certificate, trophies and were given the chance to become a part of the college’s newsletter editor board. The participants were also given certificates as a token of encouragement.

Event: Bridge Constructor

The event will consist of 2 Rounds: a) First Round: Quiz-Picto-Mania

b) Second Round : Pont- Bâtiment

Rules For Quiz-Picto-Mania:

This round will contain a quiz based on current affairs, general knowledge with logo, and Historical Architectural identification (pictorial form).
The quiz will contain 15 questions :
1. 5 Questions: Current Affairs and General Knowledge (1 mark each).
2. 5 Questions: Historical Architectural IdentificationPIctorial (2 marks each).
3. 5 Questions: Pictorial test of the logo (2 marks each).
The quiz will be in the form of multiple-choice questions and will be time bounded i.e Each Question will have a time limit.
A platform for quizzes will be Kahoot.

Result: On the basis of the Results of the Quiz-Picto-Mania Round we will select the top 15 participants for our Mega Round i.e Pont Bâtiment.

Note: In case of a tie between participants the least incorrect answer will be considered.

Rules For Pont-Bâtiment

All the participants will be given three days to complete the project.
We will provide a list of 25 things from which participants have to use a minimum of 10 things and a maximum of 25 things enlisted.
Participants cannot use anything that is not enlisted in the materials given below, if anything is used outside the enlisted material, the bridge model will not be considered.

Note: Participants can use anything other than 25 things listed present at their home due to Lockdown but a maximum of 25 only.

During the model-making process, participants have to click 10 photos of the model showing the progress of the project.
A list of materials that participants have used is to be submitted in a PDF file.
Participants will be provided with Google Form for Submission where they have to upload those photos in the form of PDF.
